Blueiceman646 asked: Hello,
Does anyone know if NYC code requires conduit pipes for low voltage wiring around an outdoor garden area?
If so, does the conduit need to be running along the floor or can it be mounted along a concrete wall?
Thanks.

backhome101 asked: I was wondering why people see value in a light source that gives bad lighting, in radient lighting (outward cast of light) and color quality. Energy effient – great but so is an electric car. I see people spending money on LED landscape lights and they look cheap and the light is tacky.

Anthony J asked: My IG pool has two water features – a waterslide and a waterfall – both are meant ot be used while the pool is in use, and both take their water from the pool. The problem is, they have powerful intakes right near the waterline that could catch a person’s skin – for an adult it would be painful, but for a small child it could be very dangerous. I’ve searched the web for some sort of intake cover that would allow it to function safely (like a screen), but no luck. If anyone has suggestions, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Rescue & Foster Mom asked: I asked this quesiton before and got one pretty good answer. I just wanted to post in another category to see if anyone else has other input.
I live out in the country and would like to build a fire pit (like an outdoor fireplace) in the back yard that I would end up being able to grill/bbq on. Do I need to dig a little bit down in the ground first or do I just clear an area where I’m going to put it and start building?
Any important things I should know before building it?
What is best to use to fuel it once it’s built? Charcoal, kindling? Does it matter?

Kat asked: I am looking at buying an outdoor fireplace. Is it safe to use it on the grass? And should I but sand or something in prior to the wood to help absorb the heat?

georgia_peach asked: We need a retaining wall about 4-ft. tall, 20-ft. long. We don’t really care about how nice it looks, it’s just to hold back a hillside, and we have nothing in our budget for something like this. Any suggestions BESIDES railroad ties, which we were told we would have to replace?

Tammy Miller asked: We bought a farm with a woods and are planning a house. with outdoor patio We want to buy a portable fire pit or one of those stee/copper chiminea fireplaces. We will be using in fall so need to stay warm. Someone said the chiminea type might help the smoke go up over our heads. Any advice?

Rebelde33 asked: I’m 18 and would like to paint houses or do landscaping but I don’t know where to go to apply to do these kinds of things in my area. Would I go to a contractor? I don’t want to start my own business, I just want to get into it.

McLaren asked: I installed all new low voltage exterior landscape lighting three years ago. The fixtures now have fairly noticable oxidation. I believe that they are powder coated cast aluminum. I have 20 path lights, a large five lamp pole fixture, and several floods that all have the same problem.
I invested a fairly substansial amount of time and money in this lighting and I would like to find some way to remove the oxidation without having to replace all of the lights.
